Providing comfort, hope, and confidence to children in urgent need
Subaru and its retailers partner with Operation Warm® to visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide children with brand-new necessities like coats, shoes, and socks.
These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can also have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have supported over 1 million children and adults in urgent need nationwide.
Environment
At Subaru, we believe what we leave behind is a reflection of who we are. That’s why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We’re proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.
Health
Subaru believes we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. That’s why for over 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our employees and customers, to support our community members living with cancer. Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United’s largest automotive donor.
Education
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers have supported more than 950,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.
Pets
Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why retailers like us partner with our local animal welfare organization every October to provide direct financial assistance through a grant distributed by the ASPCA® and host pet events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.
The Subaru Share the Love® Event
Subaru and its retailers believe in giving back to our communities. That's why for every new vehicle sold or leased during the Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru and its retailers, like us, makes a donation to national charities that our owners care about and to over 2,700 local charities where Subaru owners live and work.
Now, after 17 years, Subaru and our retailers have donated nearly $320 million to charity all to give back and to make the world a better place.

West Herr Subaru Invests in Making Camp Memories - Michael B.
West Herr Subaru isn't just funding Cradle Beach – the team rolls up their sleeves and gets involved! West Herr's direct connection helps bring meaningful outcomes to our campers, including self-confidence, a heightened sense of inclusion, and connection with our community. When kids arrive at camp, they don't just need activities - they need the safety, support, and confidence to feel included. Thanks to West Herr Subaru and the Subaru Love Promise, campers from low-income households and kids with disabilities get an unforgettable summer in a safe and secure environment and a community that cared enough to show up. Take Samantha, for example. She does not share the same summer experiences as other "normal" teens do. But the unique ability of Cradle Beach to support the physical, emotional, social, and developmental well-being of some of our most vulnerable children makes a difference for her. It is the only accessible environment where Samantha can safely participate, build friendships, gain independence, and experience inclusion. And then there is Kaila. While the beginning of Kaila's story is just a bit different from the many others told at Cradle Beach, the results and ending are very much the same. A recent recipient of a kidney transplant, Kaila's ability to move about and enjoy all the fun experiences available in her community ar very limited because her medical needs require constant attention. Cradle Beach, with its team of medical professionals on-site 24/7, gave her an opportunity to safely enjoy everything that Camp has to offer. West Herr Subaru's philanthropic support offsets the cost of camp with scholarships (we call them camperships), supported inclusive programming and helped provide accommodations and transportation, supplies, meals and staff resources. Just recently, 14 volunteers from West Herr Subaru continued the dealer's annual tradition of direct engagement by spending an August evening with nearly 100 campers running games, scooping ice cream and building sno-cones,. West Herr also actively supports and promotes Cradle Beach community fundraising activities. In addition, a significant number of West-Herr leadership team members make personal monthly donations to Cradle Beach.
Subaru Loves to Care Brings Comfort and Smiles to Patients at Golisano Children's Hospital - Tiffany R.
Earlier this month, West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park joined Golisano Children's Hospital and Blood Cancer United to bring comfort, smiles, and support to local pediatric cancer patients and their families through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. Thanks to the generosity of West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park, patients received heart-shaped blankets and toys that delivered comfort, joy, and a reminder that an entire community is cheering them on throughout their cancer journey. The fun continued as patients helped choose a name for West Herr Subaru's new Golden Retriever mascot, casting their votes between Birdie, Ruby, and Buttercup. At Blood Cancer United, we know that support comes in many forms. While research and patient services are critical, simple acts of kindness can make a meaningful impact on families navigating a cancer diagnosis. We are incredibly grateful to West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park and Golisano Children's Hospital for bringing comfort, smiles, and moments of joy to children and families in our community.

The harsh winter weather in Buffalo New York can be unforgiving. For many of the families we serve at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, purchasing a new winter coat is not always a simple expense, it can mean stretching an already tight budget or making difficult financial choices. Thanks to the generous donation of brand-new winter coats from West Herr Subaru, our clubhouse members are staying warm, confident, and feel cared for. A new coat is more than just winter gear, it provides comfort, confidence, and the ability to fully participate in school and Club activities without worrying about the cold. For families, it offers peace of mind knowing their child is properly equipped for the season. This generous contribution directly supports the health, well-being, and stability of the families we serve, and a reminder that our community stands behind its families, ensuring every child feels supported, protected, and valued.

West Herr Subaru has been and continues to be a generous, caring, and deeply supportive community partner of St. Marys School for the Deaf in Buffalo, NY. Their thoughtfulness and compassion for our students is truly heartwarming and sincerely appreciated. In addition to their support for our students, West Herr Subaru consistently demonstrates care for our teachers and staff, helping to strengthen our school community and enhance the learning environment. Our teachers are especially grateful for the school supplies donated at the start of the year, which directly supported classroom instruction and ensured students had the materials they needed to be successful. West Herr Subaru recently Shared the Love Love with FeedMore WNY when they presented an incredible donation of $46,570 as part of the annual Subaru Share the Love Event. Through Subaru the Love, Subaru of America, Inc. and West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park donated a portion of proceeds from each new purchased, leased, and serviced vehicles to FeedMore. Since 2014, West Herr Subaru has raised over a half million dollars to support food insecurity in the Western New York community.
West Herr Subaru Hosts Annual Santa Paws - Amanda W.
On December 6th, we hosted our friends at 7 Hearts Maternity Rescue, our customers and community for an adoption event and pet photos with Santa! This event has been a tail wagging good time for many years with all proceeds benefiting 7 Hearts. They provide pregnant dogs, moms with litters & orphaned pups a safe place to go, away from the stress and dangers of euthanasia and disease. This organization does not receive government funding and relies on private donations. West Herr Subaru is proud to partner with 7 Hearts through Subaru Loves Pets and fundraisers throughout the year. Laurie and her team have become family and remind us we are more than a car dealer!
West Herr Subaru brings Pete the Cat Author to local school - JESSICA A.
When a customer of ours took delivery of her new Subaru she asked if our dealership would be willing to help her bring author Eric Litwin to the school where she teaches. We were happy to make sure the beloved Pete the Cat author could make it to the Bennet Park Montessori Center for an amazing interactive session. The students & teachers were so engaged with Mr. Litwin while he played the guitar, danced and sang with the kids. The highlight was reading and singing the famous Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. This event was so impactful, helping these young children find the true magic and fun in reading.
Putting the Sunshine in Sunshine Day - Ann-Marie O.
Cradle Beach provides transformational experiences for children and adults through our overnight summer camp, respite programs, senior services and retreat facilities. We specialize in bringing together individuals with and without disabilities and/or with economic disadvantages. Our summer camp program takes place on our 66-acre campus and children stay overnight for a week at a time. One of the most magical days during each camp session is called Sunshine Day. This long-standing camp tradition takes place during evening programing and mimics a carnival, where campers participate in games, win prizes, enjoy yummy snacks and do fun activities. Each session’s Sunshine Day is made possible through a group of volunteers who donate both their time and funding to make these memorable activities possible. West Herr Subaru has been a vital Sunshine Day sponsor for the past two summers. They put the sunshine in Sunshine Day by going above and beyond to provide magical experiences to our campers. The Subaru team creates so much joy as volunteers and puts in extra effort to ensure the activities are ones that our campers will enjoy and remember throughout the entire year. This past summer, West Herr Subaru provided a photobooth, s’mores, bracelet making, face painting, balloon artistry, and West Herr edition football cards and pins. Our campers with disabilities and/or from disadvantaged circumstances would not typically be able to participate in these types of activities. The generosity of the West Herr Subaru team makes these magical moments possible, and we can see on the children’s faces just how impactful this day is and what it means to our campers. We are beyond grateful for the abundance of time that goes into planning this special day. The West Herr Subaru team is a truly magical group of people! They have a profound impact on our campers, organization and our mission. The memories they help create stay with our campers long after they go home. In addition to Sunshine Day support, Cradle Beach is a recipient of the Subaru Share the Love campaign. For nearly a decade, West Herr Subaru has helped change the lives of thousands of children in our community by donating almost $300,000 to Cradle Beach. These funds make overnight summer camp a reality for children with disabilities and for children living in underprivileged households. Without West Herr Subaru, these essential experiences would not be possible! Cradle Beach is much more than just a summer camp. Here we are developing social-emotional skills, making life-long friendships, creating a community of inclusion and ensuring that every single child feels loved, accepted and safe. On June 18, West Herr Subaru of Orchard Park, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Eastern Great Lakes Region, and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center came together for a powerful moment of connection. They heard firsthand how the Subaru Loves to Care initiative has touched the life of one courageous individual who has been fighting blood cancer (leukemia) for over 20 years. In an emotional and inspiring exchange, the patient shared how something as simple as a blanket and a handwritten message of hope brought comfort during the most difficult days of treatment. It wasn’t just the gesture—it was the feeling of being seen, supported, and not alone. A heartfelt thank you to West Herr Subaru, whose generosity over the past decade has provided more than 1,000 blankets to local blood cancer patients in Western New York.
